Tri najboljše prijateljice, »zaprisežene device«, pridejo v konflikt z lokalnimi fanti. Ko se stanje poslabša, jih reši krhko dekle.
Three best friends, sworn virgins, get into a fight with local boys. When things get rough, they are saved by a girl in the becoming.
Idea of Sisters was inspired by girls I remember from my childhood. The “forgotten” girls in baggy clothes with ponytails low down by the hair line, who somehow remained prisoners of their family and their environment for not fitting the rigid rule lines, and whom I remember would hold their mother by the hand even as adults.
The film Sisters gives voice to the modern day “sworn virgins”, women who had to take on a male role in the society, particularly in the Balkans, where the world is densely sown with seeds of the male views of women. The film also speaks to those who do not identify with the gender they were born into and do not accept roles assigned by the society on the grounds of the genitals they were born with.
